>>> Nothing lasts forever...

... but then again, some things come really close.

Yet again, a title that has nothing to with the subject matter. Or maybe it's a hidden message? Or perhaps it's meant for only one person to understand? Or it could be a hidden message for conspirators? Or possibly subliminal messaging? Who knows?
youwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwillloveme
youwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwillloveme
youwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwillloveme
youwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwillloveme
youwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwilllovemeyouwillloveme
Hahahahahaha!!! Now, that's subliminal messaging, of a kind... *strikes an evil villain pose* And speaking of evil villains, the movie Despicable Me will be landing in cinemas soon. Anybody wanna gather a posse to watch? But, just to let you know, I'm watching it for the little yellow henchmen-slash-minions [you can view them below], not anything else! XD

Just heard from my younger bro, Nez, that Argentina has been knocked out of the World Cup. If that is true, I feel sorry for Myst.

Anyways, still waiting for Scott Pilgrim and The Last Airbender to drop so I can enjoy the virtual insanities of both movies.

Definitely want to organize a posse outting for these two... and imagine that, Scott Pilgrim is the stupid kinda funny show that I try to avoid watching, but I'm willing to watch 'coz it's just TOO funny looking. =D

Anyways, I'm really irritated with my dad and Nez. Both keep taking my damn slippers (flip-flops) and that idiot Nez keeps wearing my t-shirts for days at a time before he gets out of them.

And he doesn't wash them. -___-

If that isn't irritating enough, he has a very bad habit of taking the stuff that she gave me, which pisses me off no end. GRRRRRRR.... The twit would have clothes to wear if he didn't bloody well dump them all on the floor in his room instead of putting it in the laundry for wash. Moron.

Why is the slipper thing so irritating? I have no interest in going to the neighbourhood store in my shoes when all I have to do is slip on my flip-flops. But when I have to go down to the store, guess what?

My slippers are bloody well missing.

GET YOU OWN GODDAMN SLIPPERS!!! STOP TAKING MINE!!!

And we return you to your regularly scheduled day.

Thank you.

>>> Tales of the robotic kind...

... and of a most interesting store. *grin*

First up is the movie 'review' of the new animated feature film by Disney and Pixar, Wall-E.

On the whole, Wall-E was a totally different experience from most animated films that I've viewed.

First off, the whole film is based around the adventures of a lone surviving waste disposal 'bot, named WALL-E [which is an acronym for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class] that has a gained a form of sentience and has a grasp of emotions.

And he's such a sweet character, too. He has this aura of simplicity and innocence.

And the rest of the cast is amazing, with a hair-trigger-happy 'girl' 'bot, a cute li'l anti-biohazard one and a host of others.

The best part of the whole show?

There is next to no dialogue.

Yes, that's right. Most of the communication in this one is done via body language, expressions and sound effects. Amazing work.

Oh, and it manages to show the possible [worst-case] outcome if we keep up our current rate of waste production, along with the fallout of corporate privatization and dominance. The animators did a real fantastic job of portraying an Earth wracked by the result of over-pollution.

That, and what might happen if we rely overly much on technology.

So, you could say that there's a moral built into the movie.

All in all, this was a fantastic movie!

Cute, funny, touching and all together AWESOME.

The final rating?

A whooping outstandingly awesome TEN (10) out of ten (10), with more than enough "thumbs up" to make it worth not only watching in the cinemas, but adding it to your DVD collection, too.

Yeap, a perfect score.

You know what that means.

Yeap, yeap, I absolutely loved it!

And all of you - yes, YOU - should go watch this film!

And, now, moving on...

... it's been a helluva weekend at work.

And my last attachment for the week was at Tampines Mall, working the 9-5 stretch.

Yeah, yeah, like office hours, I know. But SB-TS was a cool place to work and I learnt some really cool stuff while I was over there. Hopefully, I don't forget what those things are, haha!

The partners were so welcoming, it was like finding a second home. Too bad that two of the partners I was in class with had quit from there. *sad shrug* Oh, well, I hope that whatever they're doing now is working out for them.

To Wandy, Iqah, Su "Flu" [previously from SB-NP], "Rainwoman" Connie, Martin, Alia, Faiz and "Face Doesn't Suit The Cap" Fahmi, thank you for a most wonderful and enjoyable shift in your store!

I'll try and drop by soon.

PROMISE!!!

Clockwise, from top left: Wandy, Iqah, Su "Flu", Connie & Faiz, Martin, "Rainwoman" Connie

With that, I leave thee till the next post...

... for I have to send out a search party to aid my father's Quest for the Lost Nail-cutter.

What a life.

I need sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep~...

>>> The conundrum of the physical manifestory existence...

... as defined by the emotional response in reaction to external stimuli.

Whatever the hell that's supposed to mean, 'ey?

*laughs*

Oh, and look, we created a new word. I mean, seriously, is there even such a word as manifestory? Oh, wait, there is. Crap. So, it does exist, but has no official definition that I can find. Truly, the strange does exist on the cyber-networks of the world.

And, in all honesty, the title of the day actually, loosely refers to the act of watching a film and reactions to said watched films, among other things. It's truly open to your own interpretation, my dear reader.

Go figure, eh?

However, moving on...

... up next are four movie reviews as viewed by the common man that I am. Yes, four. Not one or two, but four.

Yes, this is what happens when I take a break from updating things.

So, let's get down to it.

First up, The Dark Knight of Gotham.

This was a pretty good movie, all things said and done.

But I am not going to over-praise Heath [may his soul rest in piece] for his portrayal of The Joker. Yes, he made an amazing Joker, really carried the role and pretty much stole the show. BUT that made me stop and think about whether it was his real-time death that made this movie role stand out even more. *shrug*

I say kudos to the scriptwriters and wonderful work by them. Heath just took his part and made their work glow on-screen.

Poor Aaron and Christian. Their characters of Dent and Wayne were so overshadowed by the Joker. I mean, the Joker seems to have more screentime than the Batman, it's ridiculuous! Christian even said, "I have no problem with competing with someone else. And that's going to make a better movie."

Boy, was he somewhat right.

But they should've renamed it The Joker or something like that. Unless, the Dark Knight is somehow referring to The Joker as well... *shrug*

Aaron was good as Dent and then as Two-Face, though I believe that his downwards spiral into madness seems rather sudden. Anguish equals instant insanity? Holy crazies, Batman!?

I think that the best line that came out of this movie is the one that Harvey says when at dinner with Wayne and Rachel, and is something along the following line, "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain."

The rest of the cast, like Oldman as Gordon [who is so understated and displays real emotion as a distraught man] and Caine as Alfred along with the short-lived Rachel played by Maggie plus Mr Freeman as Lucius Fox [OMG! FREEMAN!!! Blood good actor as a bonus! *insert many fangirls squealing*], were bloody brilliant and really brought extra "Oomph!" to the whole film.

However, I have one gripe...

... why can't Batman just get a voice modulator to change his voice instead of gutturally growling the whole way??? Like wtf, dudes.

All in all, a damn fine film that deserves a fantastic nine.

Why?

Just because I believe that the Batman shouldn't have to growl and spit.

AND because too many people give the Joker way too much credit.

So, HA! Eat THAT, Joker freaks!

Lol.

On a sidenote, I took my mom, Pervalidus and his mother to this movie. Our mothers were relatively unimpressed due to the music and such drowning out the dialogue, according to them.

The final rating - with one being completely abysmal and ten being, in Harebell's words, "greater than great!" - is.... drumroll, pleeease...

*drum roll played by a HUGE percussion band in the background that cuts out after a couple of minutes*

NINE, which means "a definite must-see and you'll be surprised at how good it is". *looks askance at the percussion band* Guys, that was a bit long, yes? Try for a shorter one next time, but thank you!

Final rating: A whopping NINE (9) out of ten (10).

Oh, and nice interesting little tidbit of info: Check out The Killing Joke graphic novel that was published by DC Comics back in 1988 and reprinted in 2003. You'll be surprised by what you read, I reckon.

By the way, if anyone can tell me where I can find the original 1988 print, aside from ebay, I would be most appreciative.

Next up, the third installment of the Mummy.

No, chaps, not YOUR mummy. The Mummy, as in the movie.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, to be exact.

Yes, The Mummy is back, but thankfully it's not the one from the previous two movies. However, it's an Asian one this time around that is kinda heavily borrowed from the continent's ancient history.

The Dragon Emperor and his terracotta army are found by Alex O'Connell, the son of Rick and Evy in the middle of some desert, while his parents are tasked to deliver an artifact to China. As usual, pure chaos ensues as a plot to revive the Dragon Emperor and have him conquer the world in order "to return it to a lawful state without corruption" [or some such ideal].

So, it's up to the O'Connells family and company to save the day.

The movie should be watched, really, but everything feels rather rushed, like the romance between the young Alex and Lin and the chase scene through the streets of Shanghai.

However, it is a nice trip away from the everyday if you're looking for a fantastical journey into adventure.

Oh, and Yetis play american football... we blame the wireless radio network back in the mid-40s for that, haha! Definitely a favourite part of the movie for me.

Overall, it deserves a rather high rating, but due to the unseemly rush inherent to the movie, it might suffer a bit in the score.

Final rating: an above average SIX AND A HALF (6.5) out of ten (10).

Moving on to the next movie in the line-up...

... is Death Race, the remake of an old 1975 movie entitled Death Race 2000.

Death Race has an interesting plot, with a couple of twists, which made for pretty cool viewing.

The amount of blood and gore didn't hurt, either.

And for once, there wasn't much sex and the like in it, though there was plenty of sex appeal.

The premise is a bit shaky if you ask me, though. I mean, the movie says that in four years, the US economy will collapse and that private corps will take over the running of most things, like the prisons. But that doesn't make sense, how the hell would they still have money to do?

And further more, will we be so stripped of humanity that we will actually watch people, even if they're incarcerated felons, fight to the death for pleasure?

Shows you what we'll eventually come to. No ca$h to survive with properly, but we'll spend a few bucks for entertainment.

Crap.

Jason Statham is pretty damn good in this movie, his facial expressions actually speaking volumes. And the way his character puts everything together to figure out how and who framed him is good, too. His character is also rather brilliant, especially with a little verbal help from Coach.

And the concept behind the races should be turned into a video game. In the first lap, drivers have to rely on their speed and skill; while in the second and third laps, their weapons can be armed, defences activated and traps activated. And all this by driving over these rather large, round metal tiles with the iconography of a sword, a shield and a skull. No prizes for guess what they activate, yeah?

Another cool thing is that the original Frankenstein from Death Race 2000, played by David Carradine, is reprised for the beginning of the movie as the Carradine Frankenstein drives the vehicle that gets blown up by "Machine Gun" Joe.

Natalie Martinez as Case was just pure hotness. And the only navigator to survive the whole Death Race. Go look her up, you hot-blooded lot, you won't regret it! :D

Anyways, this is another must watch, if just for the sheer simplicity and blatant action of it all.

However, the whole trailer pretty much gives away majority of the movie.

Final rating: another above average SIX AND A HALF (6.5) out of ten (10).

Ah, and finally the last of the four movies...

... the animated flick Star Wars: Clone Wars.

This is actually pretty good but is yet another movie that seems to end sooner than expected.

However, the style is fresh and the dialogue isn't as wooden as one would expect.

The way the clone troopers are depicted is also rather humanizing. In other words, they're pretty cool and not as retarded as you'd expect whole vatloads of them to be.

Generally, all round, it was a pretty dead cool flick and serves as a nice intro to the television series that'll be coming out this month Stateside.

However, one can't help but feel that it could've been better and that it lacked a certain flavour of some kind that one can't quite put his finger on.

That and the general feeling that spending ten bucks at the cinema to watch it was a waste, does NOT help it at all.

Final rating: a high percentile of SEVEN AND A HALF (7.5) out of ten (10).

Whew, now that's settled...

... I can move on to other things.

Work has been murder on my energy levels, and it doesn't help that my mom has me started on some weird Herbalife product that's supposed to help me lose weight. Unfortunately, I have to take double the normal amount 'coz it doesn't leave me filled and I get hungry after like a coupla hours.

Now, however, I'm kinda slacking on the Herbalife and I've finally got four days of blissful off.

Well, it would be blissful if I didn't have to do other stuff.

Like what stuff do I have to do, you ask?

Well, there are those pieces that I have to do for Shun's memorial [one and a half down, three and a half more to go; oh, crap.] which will be due in about 7 days or less. *choking sounds fade into the background*

Then, there's the hoodie that I'm working on. Have to get together all the designs for the patches, find a suitable 6 yards of cloth to use as the inner lining plus work on stenciling certain exterior panels.

And I have to perfect my Alien Organix style, sketch out my name since I haven't done it in ages, finalise some handstyles for Kawaiikunaii [which is not as easy as it sounds since I have not been able to produce anything that I actually like so far], finish up some other sketches that I've started, figure out what images to be used for my laptop Ikari's skin, get my next tattoo design settled and put down a few more t-shirt design concepts.

PLUS a half a dozen or more pieces to be done.

Not to mention the first chapter of Crossbones' Tales, my fanfic based in the Jovian Chronicles' universe, which is still lying fallow in my hard disk.

Along with having to plan either a new Exalted campaign or a Scion one while having to update the ol' Wolves of the Apocalpyse blog. OMG.

*shakes head* My head could go for a spin at this rate. Busy is not the word, innit?

At least I've finished a coupla pieces, like the ones below. Even if one of them wasn't really in the pending-job-queue...

The top one is a request by my shift supe Huda, who I rarely get to see and reminds me of a grumpy mother bear at times, haha! The t-shirt was a spontaneous design with a stencil ouuta a mag on a freshly purchased Giordano tee, done a couple of Sundays ago after treating Mach2 to homemade Bombay Toast. Doesn't he look oh-so pleased?

Haha!

Oh, yeah, just to let you lot know, I have a new second-hand laptop and it's been christened IKARI. Epic win! And, like I mentioned earlier, I'm hoping to get it skinned later this month.

That, and hopefully a new battery for poor Ikari-kun.

Cor.

But it also looks like it'll be backburned 'coz i've to help pay the utilities' bill. Cripes, there goes my expenditure plan right out the window. And I still have to save ca$h, too, for my second tattoo.

Oh, dear God.

Oh, and I found the alphabet that the Star Wars universe uses, and in true fanboy fashion, I want my real name done up in it as a tattoo. Like either along my forearm, around an ankle or along the base of my neck. Hahahahaha! I mean, it'd be freaking cool to have tattoo done in Aurebeshi, as it's called, I reckon. *grins*

Yes, I am nuts. Go figure, 'ey?

In my own personal life, my love life is a fecking mess. I accidentally proposed to one woman that I've known for eons, I'm in love with another that I've known for ages and basically watched grow up [relax, she's five years younger than me] but will never be able to get but we're kinda dating [I think], and there's a hopeless 16 year old after me. Amazing, non? Most guys would kinda kill to be wanted or somewhat involved with three women, but here I am wanting to be shot...

... like I say to my fellow Baristas, "Bar, I need to be shot!"

And I so need a full-time job that pays. But I've given up on finding one here in this godforsaken country.

*sigh*

Holy crap.

I'm screwed, aren't I?

Anyways, I've been meeting up peeps that I'ven't seen for a while as of late, like Candyman, Straight Arrow, Grimm, Ferret, Pervalidus, Da J-Meister, Ghoul and Reena. And all of 'em aren't doing too badly, which is good. And my sisters Flalicious and Sassin called me over the last two days, which was really sweet of them; hopefully, I get to see them both soon.

And work has been fun, meeting new peeps all the time. It's damnably fun working so many different oartners at so many different stores.

But I've only seen my store like 4 times out of the last fifteen days; I miss my base! I've been working at Shaw [ST], Bugis Junction [BG], Vivocity 2 [V2] and The Concourse [CS] over the remaining portion. Not to say that I had no off during those fifteen days, I did have some.

Three days of it.

*laughs*

Anyways, below are the few miserable pictures that I managed to get, with many declining to be remembered on digital film for all eternity due to various reasons; the leading reason being "I'm not pretty enough for this right now!", haha!

Amira and Affendi from Shaw Tower, Xiong with his damn cool shades from Thomson Plaza [Looking good, bro!], Santiago from Bugis, Myself with Yul and Pearly from Bugis [I love you two! ;)], Farrah and "Sharky" representing for Vivocity's two stores [Gorgeous ladies! *dreamy sigh* ;)] and Haffiz from Vivocity 2.

And that's pretty much it for this entry...

... so I'll leave you with something extra for your visual pleasure.

Resistance is Futile ver.3.0.1 :: Nightwish - Bye Bye Beautiful

What's there not like when the entire band has been transformed into beautiful ladies, 'ey?

Hahaha!

>>> The big, red guy...

... isn't too much of an asshole and is All Heart, ain't he?

LOL.

Yeah, finally getting around to reviewing both Hellboy 2 The Golden Army and Hancock.

Hellboy 2's visuals and created characters are everything that one would expect from Guillermo, with the strange, repulsive and yet strangely beautiful creatures that he designs or has designed to inhabit the worlds that he directs.

Other than that, the movie was rather disappointing.

That is IF you bought into all the hype that now surrounds a movie before it is released.

Though it departs from the traditional hammer-and-pound of the previous film, it's take of mythical and folklore-ish creatures along with some historical basis [Thank you, ABE!] more than makes up for it, in my honest opinion. Especially with the actual authentic Gaelic that the Sidhe speak.

Though the humour is rather lame at times, it somehow fits in the setting of Hellboy 2, more than one can believe. Though it had several watchers "palming their face", as it were, it had more than its fair share of the audience laughing.

My favourite portions of this movie were the scenes in which the Prince Nuada is performing his blade katas, and the drunken singing of Abe & Hellboy when they were feeling miserable over their loves.

I enjoyed watching the movie, though some may argue that one factor was that I'd managed to pull a dozen people - Alan, Andrew, Carol, Ero-Otaku, Ferret, Ghoul, Grim, Mach2, Pervalidus, Sassin, Ting and myself - along for the ride, but it was fun, visually appealing and not as predictable as one would expect.

Overall, it was an enjoyable watch, with a good mix of humour, action, drama and fantasy.

Oh, and by the way, Johann Krauss was a wicked addition to the cast and story.

Final rating: a 'grand' score of seven (7) out of ten (10).

Hey, it could've been worse. If Carol'd fallen asleep, the rating would've dropped even further! Hahahahaha!!!

But, do watch the film!

Next up, HANCOCK...

... is another kind of movie. Different in its own way and explores the human side of a superhero.

It was rather refreshing and the humour was easy enough to understand, leaving the audience in stitches.

Except for the prison confrontation which had the audience despairing about whether to feel horrified, to laugh maniacally or both!

That was genius and I can't wait for the Director's Cut DVD when it comes out. But that's another story in itself.

The real kicker is when we, the audience, find out about his past and the fact that the PR guy's wife is like Hancock... and Hancock's bloomin' wife.

And the newly designed suit that the PR dude makes for Hancock is kinda cool, even if it looks like something out of the X-Men.

I don't want to spoil this for everyone, but you gotta watch this movie, seriously!

And the ending is like nothing that you'll ever think of.

Oh, and by the way, the fact that the Singaporean theaters actually changed the vista that you see on reflected on Hancock's shades just plain SUCKS and reeks of utter hubris.

Final rating: a mighty score of eight (8) out of ten (10).

There done.

Finally I can rest my bloody eyes.

And I can stop cracking my head.

Till the next time.

Laterz, gatorz.

>>> Black, white and chop socky...

... with curving bullets, explosions and insanity.

Two movies in two weeks, at ten bucks a pop 'coz of Friday rates, may be killer on the wallet but so satisfying for the soul.

Bloody amazing.

First up, the new animated film from Dreamworks: Kung-Fu Panda.

And for those who've managed to catch it before me, do not start cackling.

Or the Wuxi Finger Hold will wipe the floor with you, haha!

The opening of the film was to put it mildly, different. A rather flat, 2D-ish, cartoon-like but vividly-drawn approach was used, like that of Samurai Jack, which therefore concludes that hand-drawn methods have not died yet, haha! But it was so tres cool!!!

The opening basically indicated to me that this was going a bloody good watch.

And it was!

You get the emotional vibes from the characters, even though it is an animated film and the characters are nothing more than animated silicon polygons. For example, the scene with the disparaging comments by the Five about Po.

And the humour, though quite a bit of it was lame, was able to pull laughs from the audience, even from this humble [and rather jaded] reviewer.

Also, there were some lessons about life weaved into the movie through the screenplay, but I'll leave it to you to figure out what exactly I'm talking about.

Overall, Kung-Fu Panda was an enjoyable experience and it guaranteed to pull a few laughs from even the most hardened, unfeeling criminal.

Final Rating: a cool seven-point-five [7.5] out of ten [10], due to the sheer campiness prevalent at times.

Next up on the list, the motion picture from Universal Pictures, Wanted.

Though I think it really does deserve to have the title in capital letters.

So, let's try that again...

... the motion picture from Universal Pictures, WANTED.

There much better.

A cliche whiny newbie to master in under two hours of filmtime was saved from mediocrity by a few factors.

Firstly, it stars Angelina Joile and there are way too many Jolie fetishists out there who can't resist her. I honestly don't quite fancy her, but she is a rather good actress... and it was too damn awesome when her character kills everyone with a single bullet, including herself. "GOODBYE", now that was brilliant, betcha no one saw that coming!

Secondly, McAvoy, as Wesley, is a change from the usual Hollywood leading man syndrome. And he can apparently act the part of a geeky, whiny, underachieving coward of a man quite well. His transformation from that into masterful assassin is quite interesting, with a hint of evil malice in his confidence.

Thirdly, the plot twists are fantastic, even if somewhat transparent. Yeah, I saw some of it coming. But it was still a beautiful mindfuck.

Fourthly, the gun-fu and fast-paced action. Enough said?

Lastly, which is my ultimate favourite, the breakage of the fourth wall at the end of the movie with Wesley so-called narrating to the audience with the question of "What the fuck have you done lately?", or something to that extent. My favourite portion of the whole movie.

All in all, a nutty, action-packed, fast-paced, thrill ride to nowhere, probably written by a pack of juveniles and so loosely based on the comic series, that that claim shouldn't even be there at all. It should've been "inspired by", not "loosely based on". YEESH.

Final Rating : a slightly above average six [6] out of ten [10]. Definitely not something that I'd buy to watch again unless I have pack of juvies at my crib to keep entertained. Mebbe rent, but probably not buy.

Go watch these movies if you're really bored or have the time to spare, but they're not a must-see kind of deal.

'Nuff said.

See ya at the next review!

>>> What's big, green and sits in the corner?

THE INCREDIBLE SULK!!!

Yeah, yeah, I know. It's uber lame. But it should've gotten your attention. Non?

Anyways, looks like the best laid plans often go awry. How and what do I mean? Let's just say instead of watching something black, white and furry, Pervalidus, Ferret and myself ended up watching something huge, green and angry.

Yeap, that's right we watched The Incredible Hulk.

And damn it rocked!!! ^^

Warning: Spoilers may be ahead, for those who do not wish their viewing pleasure destroyed by knowing what happens in the end, please avert your eyes and/or go somewhere else.

I have no definite favourite moments, but the parkour-like chase scene in the Brazilian city, the way he makes his way back up to Culver, his fight with the Abomination and, the ultimate pinnacle, the Big Green roaring "HULK SMASH!".

Oh, hell yeah, this movie rocked on so many levels. It had a plausible storyline, Edward Norton as Bruce Banner was a wonderful choice, the redesign of the Abomination was fantastic [and a helluva lot better than the original reptilian design from the comics], the obligatory sex scene was hilarious [I blame the Brucester's need to not have his heart race beyond 200bpm as the main issue! LOL.] and overall, it just flowed rather well.

And let's face it, Bruce Banner's rather sinister smile as his eyes turn such a wonderful shade of green - of his own volition - at the end of the movie was so satisfying.

That, and having Tony Stark appear towards the end was quite gratifying. The Hulkbuster Program and the Avengers, anyone? *evil laugh*

However, this movie did not score full marks because even though a lot of people love Liv Tyler, I find that she's rather like a porcelain doll. That and the quick devolving spiral of Blonsky in drug addiction like fashion was rather disappointing.

Therefore, in conclusion, this movie obtains...

... a mighty NINE out of ten!!!

For those who haven't watched this yet, go watch it...

... NOW!!!

>>> INDIAN JONES STRIKES AGAIN!

Hey, waitaminit, ain't that s'posed to be Indiana Jones!?

Hahaha.

Ask Kenneth from SBTH, he'll tell you exactly who and what Indian Jones is.

However, moooving ooon...

Yet another epic Indiana Jones film. It was good, if a bit far-fetched. And, guys, c'mon, wasn't the number 51 on the hangar door enough of a hint to make you guys suspect the [remote possibility] of extraterrestrial involvement? Like, hello, BIG spoiler giveaway right within the first few moments of the movie! But, it does keep a body guessing what'll happen next, tho' it often seems pretty obvious.

I really liked the idea, even if it was really unbelievable and probably damn nigh impossible at that, behind the hiding-in-lead-lined-fridge-and-surviving-a-nuclear-blast scene. Like the rest of the movie. Far-fetched, but c'mon, it's a trademark of most Indiana Jones movies; pulp-fiction-like action mixed with wise guy & dry wit banter.

The only issue I had was that certain things seemed too pat [like the instant acceptance of Mutt's story about Oxley and his mom, and Marion & Indy rekindling their love on the run] and it seemed a tad bit rushed. BUT...

IT WAS STILL A GREAT MOVIE, I LOVED IT!!!

I really don't get what all the fuss is about with the "OMG, it'll rape your childhood memories" and "it was unbelievably unrealistic" and what-not.

Christ. Almighty. On. A. Crutch.
No offence, JC, seriously.

PEOPLE, take a chill pill, it's a bloody pulp fiction action film, it's not s'posed to be realistic!

But right about now, all that matters is that I enjoyed the film. And I had the good company of Pervalidus to enjoy it with. So, chaps, all you really need to enjoy a movie is to go in with no expectations [whatsoever] and a friend or three.

But, then again, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. *shrug*

Overall rating for this movie?

A great, big, whopping EIGHT (8) out of ten (10).

There, done.

Next film: KUNG-FU PANDA!

Now to do a Panda...

... eats, shoots and leaves.

*grin*

TCHAO!!!

... and what's up with me and Leetspeak anyway?

For those who have no idea what Leetspeak is, just click here. And for Christ's sake, if you don't know what Leetspeak is, where the hell have you been, living under a boulder!? Anyways, I'm digressing...

Well, the last few days have been pretty cool. Here's a short recount:

Thursday, 15th Nov
Aunt Doreen took me for crafts where I was able to show-off my sketchbook and Sandra picked one of the designs from there for me to transfer and paint on to a plate. Aunt Doereen's crafts clique is pretty cool, even if they're all pretty old. Look out for a pic of that sometime in late November, early December. I know that my friend Z3r0 will like it. *grin*

Friday, 16th Nov
Took a trip down to Blacktown again. Settled some banking for my aunt Yogi, bought Staedler colour inkliners [W00T!] and Faber-Castell colour pencils [double W00T!], and got a new 3-liter bottle of milk. Which I actually regretted buying 'coz I had to lug the damn thing back home and it weighed down my bag. *sigh* What a killer weight, and it's a 30 to 45 minute walk/hike back to the crib. Spent the evening and had dinner at Aunt Jean's, had a beer, lovely pasta and banana pancakes with ice-cream... *licks lips* truly delicious and Aunt Jean is a fantastic cook, I swear. Had a lovely evening with her, Uncle Brian and Mr Drew. Oh, and I finished about four pieces on Friday, which can be viewed at deviantART site, if you're interested.

Saturday, 17th Nov
Highlight of the day: taking the dogs out for a walk to the Farnham Shopping Arcade. They were so tuckered out that they pretty much left me alone for the rest of the day. I was pretty wasted, too, so much so that I dozed off on the couch and missed my big sis' phone calls, which meant that missed going over to her crib. BLEAH.

Sunday, 18th Nov
My big sis & her husband picked me up and we went to go do some shopping at West Point in Blacktown. She bought the Kanye West GRADUATION album for me! As well as a large Super Supreme pizza from Pizza Hut, which only cost A$9.95, can you believe that!? They dropped me off at home and Uncle Sarathi came over with Aunt Jenn and gave me lunch: prata with damn good chicken curry! WHOOHOO!!! I feel ever so spoiled. Hahahaha!!! And wonders of wonders, I had a three hour nap in the dregs of the afternoon and woke up around nine... which was just in time to watch Miami Ink.

Well, that's the last four days in a nut shell.

And I'm looking for people in Sydney to watch Stardust with as well as a whole posse to go watch the movie Hitman that hits Oz on the 6th of December? Any takers!?

C'mon, it'll be great! Action ,adventure, intrigue, romance and all sorts of mad fun... and that's just in the seatings, imagine the movie! LOL. I jest about the seats deal, but c'mon, this movie promises to be awesome, and I need some mates to enjoy the awesomeness with me!!!

Okay, I'm off to sleep so I'll leave you with a really hilarious animated 'short' from the Looking For Group webcomic creator and his team...

>>> I wished...

... upon a falling star.

I really did. Saw a fiery streak cross the clear night sky on the way back from the station around midnight. The sight of such clear sky is truly amazing, and absolutely gorgeous to behold. *dreamy sigh* The child within keeps chanting "I saw a shooting star, I saw a shooting star!" over and over again. Now, please keep in mind that I have NEVER seen one before in my life and that I've only read about them, therefore dismissing any thought of one to the darkest realms of myth and jaded disbelief; so, thus my sheer delight in seeing one. Hopefully it also signifies that my run of luck will get better. I hope.

Yet, then again, it's a thing that flies across the heavens, possibly either burning out, crashing to the surface of some remote planet or flaming out in the atmospheric entry of a planetoid, so why do we annotate a change of luck or the granting of wishes to such a phenomenon? Superstitions so ingrained into our psyches that even when faced with the cold, hard, banal facts, we hope for the even the most remote flights of fantasy to be true or believe to be true. *shrug* How hopeless is humanity? How hopelessly optimistic? Or are we just unrealistic, hoping that everything works out for the best?

Going back to the subject of stars, I think and believe that I'll always have stars incorporated into my tattooes. And yet, I've not dreamed of being an astronaut, not even once. I guess that I'm just in awe of them, and maybe, just maybe, somewhere deep down inside my spiritual self, I still believe the old myths and stories about the stars.

And I really need to find out where I can watch the movie Stardust here, and soon. Before it ends its run here, that is. Hopefully I can rope some people into watching it with me when I find it.

Wish me luck...

... especially when you see a shooting star.

*Cheshire grin*

>>> It's Summer...

... so why is it so freaking cold!?

Bleah. It's been raining off and on for the last few days, and will continue to do so until the end of the week. Which basically means that I've been pretty much cooped up at home in Quakers Hill for AGES! Ok, well, not really for ages, but you kinda get the picture.

And it doesn't help in the entertainment department that the comp at home here is on the fethin' fritz: BSOD at the oddest times for starters! Not to mention the recurrence of Firefox Failure [F3] which pretty much screws up my entire surfing pleasures. Cripes. But it's all good, I have other things to do, too.

Like what, you may ask? Well, if you mosey down to my dA Site, you'll see that I've been rather productive in the art field. LOL. For example, have a look at what I did to my one of my best buds' headphones which he loaned me, which is also displayed in my dA gallery. *grin* [Yes, yes, shameless self-plugging, no matter how wrong that sounds!]

Speaking of art, how's about some body art? Namely tattooes! Yes, I've been watching way too many episodes of Miami Ink on cable [Discovery Travel!?], and I now really want to get a tattoo to commemorate my SOLO trip to Sydney [Australia]. But I have no idea what to get done, especially with my limited budget. However, I do know where I might like to get it done: either my right lower forearm on the underside OR on on the left side of my left lower leg. Decisions, decisions. *sigh* Any suggestions, mes ami? Oh, and I finally got a picture of my first tattoo [before the Über fade!], let me put it up here...

... Maybe I should use the fan/gift art of the Smoking Girl that my friend Marjak had sketched up for me as a tattoo on my left lower leg. With perhaps the addition of the Silent Strider glyph as a bottom/base and maybe the southern cross arrangement of stars trailing downwards from the glyph's underside? *chuckles* Seems like I already have the idea, now to find out how much it will cost me! I think I'm going to have to ask LOIDZ, who works down at Manly in a tattoo parlour. I can but hope and pray that he can help me out. *prays fervently*

Thank god for cable television! Thanks to it, I've watched more movies in the last few weeks than I've ever watched in the last THREE years! Seriously. I've even watched movies that I wasn't able to watch in the theaters or on disc or off downloads. Movies like The Siege, Up Periscope, Night Watch and so many more that it's almost like a blur. Wow~...

And Christine Akka is so nice and everything, it really does feel like we've known each other for ages even though I met her for the very first time in my life. And to explain, she's my mother's "adopted" daughter. Who doesn't want a fun-loving, willing-to-spoil-and-indulge-the-younger-brother elder sister, huh? I mean, seriously, who wouldn't? Ok, mebbe I'm the only one, but after being the older brother for so long... well, it's nice to be the younger one for once. *happy sigh* And she lets me hang out at her house, allowing me almost free rein. Not to mention that there's a skate park pretty close by, so it's all good! I LOVE MY SISTER!!! *grin* And not in an incestuous way, get your minds outta the gutters, dammit!

And speaking of sisters... I'm finally chatting with Caity again. *another happy sigh* I've missed her terribly, she's one of my favourite younger sisters. And also a tattoo nutter like myself... we love 'em! Unfortunately for me, she has more tatts than me at the moment. Something I hope to rectify sooner or later. HAHA!!

I have no idea how right this is, but I kinda just did it for fun after nicking it off of Shaun's blog...
